In the early '90's I discovered
and became a great admirer of
the Series 1 Jaguar XJ6 & XJ12.
In 2002 I located and bought
a silver XJ6, which afterwards
developed engine problems -
forcing me to sell it.
Near the end of 2007,
quite by accident
I stumbled across the XJ6
which is pictured here.
After many hours of hard work,
what you are looking at is
a sort of dream come true;
and it's a serious head turner !

And now for those who care about such things as details...

The paint is a beautiful eye popping Viper GT Blue with multiple layered clear -
it's an eye catcher day and night, and I receive compliments wherever I go !
The British 6 cylinder engine has been updated with American iron
via a small block Chevy 350 engine w/ 4bbl carburetor - circa 1975.
Factory gearbox has been replaced by a GM 350TH automatic transmission.
All chrome side molding and emblems have been removed.
Reverse lights have been removed and filled, along with accent trim.
Single side mirror has been removed and upgraded to matching side view mirrors.
Dual tailpipes have been replaced with twin tipped chrome extensions.
The tires were replaced a few months ago courtesy of the gang at Firestone.
More on the practical side, the starter and alternator are also new.
Earlier this summer the front brakes were replaced:
new rotors, new pads, and calipers rebuilt.
Front and rear seats have been reupholstered,
as well as the door panels, so no rips or tears.

For those who do not know, the Series 1 is the very first XJ model produced.
The Series 1 is slightly shorter in length than the Series 2 and 3 models to follow,
and in my humble opinion the very best looking of them all.
These cars handle like they're on rails, and the V8 in this one is actually
lighter in weight than the original 6 cylinder - giving it a fantastic
power to weight ratio and even better handling capacity.

A journey ends...

It has been a difficult decision to make, yet one that must be made.
The time has come for a new owner to leave their mark upon this car.
My circumstances and finances are pressing me to sell -
so my loss is sure to be the gain of a fellow Jaguar enthusiast.

If you are interested in becoming the proud owner of this Series 1,
please email me at rob@unleashyourselves.com

All in all, I estimate to have invested about $7,500 in this car.
This does not include an additional TH400 transmission
with matching driveshaft for the Series 1 conversion.
BUT... for the right price I'd be happy to add it in !
:)

So, don't be shy - make me an offer !
