What is your Treasure?

Some time ago as I was driving, the song
“Travelin’ Man” by Bob Seger came on the radio.
My sister was a fan of Bob Seger when I was a kid,
and I never really got “into” her kind of music.

So I’m listening, and smiling,
because now it’s reminding me of her… of home.

“Leavin my home, leavin my friends,
Runnin when things get too crazy…”

I nod to myself – how true how true;
that’s how I ended up in the Northwest !
And then I heard this:

“Sometimes at night, I see their faces,
I feel the traces they left on my soul.
Those are the memories
that made me a wealthy soul.”

So much still comes to mind & tugs at my heart;
I’m pulled back to sitting at a piano at the house
of my very first girlfriend & we’re both playing
(some simple tune that goes da da da… da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da)
((Come on – you know the one !))
The sweet memory of kissing my best friend’s cousin on the
beach in Florida over Christmas break – my first REAL kiss ;)~
Seeing my son born; realizing what an incredible love
I have helped bring into the world…
Falling hopelessly in love for the first time.
A ‘thank you’ card that says
“Rob, I appreciate you”
love,
Chris.
My Mom & Dad holding their grandson for the first time…
I was so very very proud. …

And of course, there are the more recent ones.
Strangers who have crossed my path and made
my journey in this world all the more blessed.
If you only knew how much your encouragement
and your belief in me has meant. The little things
you’ve said… ripples that continue to make their
way back & forth across the lake of my heart.

Yes, these
- all of these and more
are the memories that make me a wealthy soul…
