Find Your Will…

For those of you
who have been at the end of your rope,
or may even be dangling there now;
is the solution beyond your knowledge,
or outside of your perceived abilities?
Neither. You either have the will to persevere,
or you will succumb to the point of your surrender.

The terms of our defeat in Life
are more often written in tears
than the blood and sweat of battle.

We give up long before we charge into the fray of the unknown and the feared – where both obstacles and opportunities lay in wait.
We see the shadows and slink into our own, never realizing they would not exist without the rising light.
We lay down our hopes and dreams, thinking them out of reach – and pick up those we think we can achieve.

Yet on another hill, lit by the same sun and surrounded by the same as you; another celebrates their victory.
They did not rely only on their own skills, their own abilities, their own knowledge and effort.
They didn’t “do their best” and call it a day when a battle was lost.
They pushed and persevered, accepting both peace and punishment, knowing that the results of a given battle do not dictate the outcome of the war.

Understand that doing your best and doing what it takes aren’t always on the same playing field, so you need to play the game of getting it done!
Realize that setbacks aren’t stopping points; they are opportunities to gather wisdom and strength – and oftentimes strength can be found in numbers.
Don’t let pride stand between you and winning. Ask for help – develop a team. What great endeavor was ever accomplished by one person? None!
And for every person standing with a trophy – there was a team of people who made it possible.
