NOW is the time to break the chains

Years ago I read a quote that, at the time
did not have the same impact and meaning
for me as it does today in my Life,
and I had all but forgotten about it until
earlier this week when it was sent to me.

So…
before you read it, though – a few thoughts.
First of all – I think you and I are afraid that
we aren’t good enough or “adequate” enough
on some level or some area of our lives.
And for the most part we either ignore avoid
those things where we feel inadequate about,
or we tackle them head on until they become a strength.

============================
Attack that which you fear
and the death of fear is certain
. “

Do that which you fear the most
and it will one day become
your greatest strength
. ”
============================

Yet, there is something deeper and more powerful;
a truth that most only catch a glimpse of before
quickly dismissing it as an impossibility.

As a matter of fact, If you were to grasp and embrace this,
you wouldn’t spend your time on any of those petty fears
and so called inadequacies that you make up.

Stepping further -
up to this point you have done much
to cover up, disguise and deny this truth.

So much so that no matter what I say here,
and despite my efforts to convey and reveal it -
I suspect that your reactions will be to smile,
then smirk, and finally scoff at the mere notion.

So read this.
And do me a favor.
Read beyond the words.
Whether you are agnostic, religious, atheist -
put your beliefs on hold right now & don’t
let them be a hang up or hindrance to you.
Don’t let your faith or lack thereof
be a feather in your cap for failure.

OK. I think that’s it.
Now, let this sink in:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.”

~ Marianne Williamson

OK, now for those of you who simply skimmed this -
consider that there are other areas of your life as well
where your rush to find what you’re looking for
prevents you from seeing what there is to find.

The rest of us will gladly wait while you go back and
consume the words in order to digest their meaning.
I’ll wait all night – because you’re worth it.

Because here’s the deal:
there is a lot that could be done to
make this world a better place to live.
And I happen to think that you are the solution.
Not a politician, nor any “package” or clever slogan.
No head of a church or chairman of any board.
You need to get – really grasp and embrace -
that you are a force to be reckoned with in your world,
and that you are the change that will
make a difference to the world.
The world around you as you know it
exists because you have allowed it to be.
By what you’ve done, or not done and allowed to occur,
you are living a life of your own creation -
not circumstance or chance.
And as you wake up and become the cause
of how the world around you evolves and revolves -
those around you will stir from their own self induced slumber.
When majoring in the minors becomes a thing of the past
and playing small is no longer part of your game plan;
people will see that and want to be a part of it.
They will join you in the transformation
of both your Life and theirs.

Now is the time to break the chains…
