Bookmarking Your Rescue

Are you bookmarking your rescue?

You have centuries of information and the imagination of humanity at your fingertips.
Every woe and worry you have in your life has been experienced and overcome by others in far more dire circumstance – and their stories shared to the world for you to read and hear about.
So I have to ask, my scrolling Friend, when you discover these jewels of inspiration and wisdom gleaned through the ages -
do you explore and investigate how you might implement them into your own life
or do you simply bookmark it for another day – when it’s more convenient?

It seems the normal of society has taught us to believe we ought to achieve a comfortable life – and brought us countless ways to experience numerous yet fleeting pleasures to that end.
Perhaps it is the rebel in me, but I don’t think your Life was ever meant to be a ‘sit back and sip your tea’ scenario.
In the timeless words of Denis Waitley;

“You were designed for accomplishment,
engineered for success, and endowed
with the seeds of greatness.”

In most conversations I’ve had where deeper truths have been revealed, the longing is to make a difference; a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Sometimes it takes a scraping away of the more self-centered beliefs we’ve been taught to find; yet it is there.
And I happen to think it is a treasure worth digging for.

Yet digging sounds like work; digging would take time and effort.
And so those things that could transform our life and the lives of others are pushed to the backburner and bookmarked in our favorites, giving us permission to move on and get back to the normal of our Life once again.
Crisis averted. Comfort regained.
Congratulations – complacency wins again.

So, I’m just going to end this with an Ask.

Can we make it normal
to treat others like we would want to be treated?

Let’s start there.

But I’ve got to warn you, though – and listen up;
I said how you WANT to be treated
NOT how you EXPECT to be treated.

(a lot of us still have to work on that one, because it’s the stronger belief)
