Always a reason… Know it or not

always-a-reason

For so many years I’ve held a belief that
people come into our lives for a reason
- AND that sometimes we know what that reason is,
and sometimes we don’t.
chuckle…
Do we ever really know ?
And just when we think we know the reason
- Life shifts and we need to think of another reason !
So I guess part two of my belief is that most of the time
we really don’t know the reason; and as long as we
come up with a reason that satisfies us, we are content.

I ran across this some time ago now,
but wanted to share it with you now:

” ~ Some people come into our lives,
leave footprints on our heart
and we are never the same ~ ”

I’ve always wanted to be one of those people.
There have been many a print left on my heart and soul
- people that have made a profound difference in my Life.
And it is my greatest desire and passion to have that impact
in the lives of othes. Now is the tricky part.
Do you notice it says “leave footprints on our heart”.
What that picture portrays to me is that of footprints;
an impression in one’s Life…
and then those prints fade away into the sunset.
So that image brings me to this,
which was emailed to me the other day.
(coincidence or something else ?)
I don’t know the author, but here goes:

“There are people who can walk away from you.
And hear me when I tell you this!
When people can walk away from you: let them walk.
I don’t want you to try to talk another person
into staying with you, loving you,
calling you, caring about you,
coming to see you, staying attached to you.
I mean hang up the phone.
When people can walk away from you let them walk.
Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.
People leave you because they are not joined to you.
And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.
Let them go.
And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person
it just means that their part in the story is over.
And you’ve got to know when people’s part in your story
is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s over.
Let me tell you something. I’ve got the gift of good-bye.
I believe in good-bye.
It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful,
and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me.
And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it.
Stop begging people to stay. Let them go!!
If you are holding on to something that doesn’t belong
to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to……
LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to past hurts and pains .
LET IT GO!!!
If someone can’t treat you right, love you back, and see your worth…..
LET IT GO!!!
If someone has angered you ……
LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge……
LET IT GO!!!
If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction……
LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents .
LET IT GO!!!
If you have a bad attitude…….
LET IT GO!!!
If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better……
LET IT GO!!!
If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship…….
LET IT GO!!!
If you keep trying to help someone who won’t try to help themselves……
LET IT GO!!!
If you’re feeling depressed and stressed …….
LET IT GO!!!
Let the past be the past. Forget the former things.
LET IT GO!!! ”

OK, are you back ? I am.
What I’m trying to say is that for a long time
I’ve felt very guilty about not being really “connected”.
Come on, you that know me well can get this.
I’m aloof, keep to myself & a loner for the most part.
Yet, rather than try to keep fighting this,
I’m beginning to learn that it’s OK.
Just because people can make a difference in my Life
doesn’t mean I have to cling to them,
just as if I happen to make a difference in the Life of another
do I need to feel compelled to stay close or cling to them.

OK, so read this if I’ve lost you a bit.

“People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually
to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part
or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do
something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met,
our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered
and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON,
it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it! It is real!
But, only for a season. ”

Now, if you’re feeling like asking me
or anyone else which you are to them,
or what you may be to them – don’t.
Just don’t.
The only way you’ll ever know if someone
is to be in your life forever is at the end of your life
- and they are still there.
The people that fall out of touch
- they are blessings either of a Season or for a Reason.
Key word = blessing.
And what do you do with a blessing ?
Be thankful !!!
Sheesh.
So at times I’ve been sad that people have drifted out of my life.
But I’ve been blessed by them, so that is what I hold onto.
And you know, if I’ve made any of you smile or laugh;
comforted you in sorrow or grief…
Maybe that was my reason for being in your Life;
perhaps this is our Season of experience.
Who knows.
I know I’ll never really know.
But…
I have an opinion ;)
It seems to me that every person who would be a part of our lives
- especially for our Lifetime would start out as a Reason.
So with that in mind, I think it’s pretty awesome
that of all the billions of people in this world,
and of all the millions of things to read
YOU are reading this from ME.
And guess what ?
I have another opinion. …
I think there’s a reason you’re reading this
just as I think there’s a reason I am writing it
at this exact hour on this particular day.

And I may never know what it is…
