If evil really existed…

If there were an evil force in this world,
it’s best line of attack wouldn’t be a
full frontal assault, but rather a series
of challenges, failures and setbacks.
It would use such tactics as distraction,
disease, false hope, disappointment,
self sabotage, and most of all – fear.

It would preoccupy those whose Purpose
in Life was outside of themselves & for
the Good of others, and direct them
toward more self serving interests.

It would sensationalize minor trivial events,
while minimizing major important occurences.

It would desensitize us to the plight of
those in need and justify our reasons
for not doing what was once simple
called “doing the right thing”.

It would build an interactive world
where if we didn’t like what we saw
we could simply change a channel,
flip a page, click a button or a link.

It would reward those who provide
comfort and distraction from reality,
while creating hardship for those
who sought to bring Truth to light.

It would glorify delicacies and desserts,
create a craving for damaging foods,
and diminish want and supply of
proper nourishment & sustenance -
weakening our resistance and strength.

It would promote interest and exaltation of
immediate gratification and impulsive desires,
while slighting common sense and self control.

It would create a system where
greed and entitlement dictated
the law of the Land instead of
hard work, perserverance, and
indiscriminate opportunity.

It would cause us to divide against
others because of our differences,
rather than celebrate our similarities.

It would label us according to our traits,
opinions, history, genetics, appearance -
then tell us what we were or were not
capable of or worthy of, as well as what
we should and should not do, think or say.

It would instill apathy as normal behavior,
and inject hopelessness in the hearts
of those who might care for others
more than themselves.

It would make diversion and dissention
an almost  daily routine and force people
to choose sides over the drama of the day.

Look around.  If there is still question,
then you have succumbed to evil’s
most cunning and treacherous lie;
convincing you it does not exist…
