Is your best good enough?

This is the question I asked when I saw
a photo of a Young Marine recruit who
was giving it his all in a foot race.

His eyes were closed, face clenched
in a grimace of pain and determination;
going all out where others might give up.… —-> Continue…

I keep thinking about her handwriting…

We would often write each other notes & letters – the good old fashioned kind with real paper and ink.
I loved her handwriting.
Her office was next to where I worked, which is how we met over 14 years ago.… —-> Continue…

Independence Day

Independence Day:liberty 220x165

About 1/3 of the way into it, I saw a bit of what looked
like maybe some red apple peel on the spoon. … —-> Continue…

LISTEN. JUST. LISTEN…

NOISE-OFF

For a moment
turn off the noise
and listen.

No music.
No video.

Simply be still

because we have been inundated
and conditioned to have so much
sound become the background of
our lives that we don’t even
know what “We” sound like.… —-> Continue…
