MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
It’s that time of year again where they play all those songs
that are supposed to put us in the Christmas Spirit.
Among these songs is a more recent one called
“The Christmas Shoes”.
I get a lump in my throat whenever I hear this song

I thought I’d switch gears here,
and talk about “relationships”.
So, this whole boy / girl / love thing -
let’s skip past the first part (meeting).
Let’s talk about the fall…
What I’ve observed is that the first months
of any relationship both parties are really
pouring on the charm & pulling out the stops
while at the same time throwing out little “tests”

I get it.
It was early afternoon.
Broad daylight. A lot of traffic.
A man near the corner traffic light where I was stopped
was trying to wrap a blanket around himself to stay warm.

I SHOULD be drinking water right now,
given I’ve been out sick for the last 4 days.
I am not. Instead, I’m drinking V8 Vfusion
vegetable & fruit juice.
Why? I like the flavor. Why not Kool Aid?
Because I’d rather have water than artificial
flavors, sugars, dyes and a variety of chemicals
