I carry a small filing cabinet wherever I go.
It’s called my wallet. Rather than cash,
scraps of miscellaneous paper fill it to the brim.
A piece of napkin, a post-it note, gas receipt, etc.
On each is written a reminder of something -

the ultimate sacrifice was given
by those who left their families
that you might be with yours.
They were people of every race and religion,
nationalities from across the globe, and

for me while I was shaving.
At first I thought it was directed at me -
because at times I find myself caught up
in petty pursuits that have no real

people come into our lives for a reason
- AND that sometimes we know what that reason is,
and sometimes we don’t.

You know what’s an interesting thought, is that across the board the US can chalk up the majority of it’s health concerns on a terrible diet.

This may be an age old bit of wisdom
- but what I really want to know is:
Do I know where the flock is headed,

That we so often see more of the “proof”
that says “not worthy” rather than the reality
and Truth that we ARE abundantly worthy
can be such a tug of war in belief.
We want to believe we can have it all -
that the desires and wants of our heart mind and soul
will be beyond fulfilled… yet our mind plays tricks, and gives us
